Fruit - Infused Water Recipes - 2 Brunettes & A Blog

Struggling to get your 8 glasses of water a day? Feel like fancying up your H2O?

Infusing water with fruit (or veg) is a great way to get plenty of fluids, make it tastier and also get some extra vitamins! All that and without the downside of excess calories, sugars, and artificial flavourings (what’s not to love?).

OK so first you’re going to need an infused water bottle, as having the infusing chamber helps to stop the fruit going everywhere and filters out the broken down fruit.

Amazon do a great one here for just £7.99.

Refreshing Lemon + Lime

Lemon & Lime - Infused Water Recipes - 2 Brunettes & A Blog

This classic combo is not only deliciously refreshing but also has some great benefits too. Lemons help to aid digestion (and also freshen breath), while limes are an excellent anti-aging weapon due to their restorative properties for hair, skin, and nails.

Ingredients

1/2 of a lemon

1/2 of a lime

Method

  1.  Remove skin from lemons & limes (this makes them bitter), then cut into small chunks
  2.  Place into infusing chamber & fill bottle with water
  3.  Leave overnight in the fridge (or for 24 hours to increase strength)
  4.  Enjoy!

Sweet Strawberry + Lime

Strawberry & Lime - Infused Water Recipes - 2 Brunettes & A Blog

This sweet and sour combo is not only super tasty but it’s also super good for you. Limes provide anti-ageing benefits whilst strawberries are loaded with disease fighting antioxidants, aid weight loss and provide twice the amount of vitamin C than the average fruit!

Ingredients

1/2 of a lime

Handful of a strawberries

Method

  1.  Remove skin from limes & wash strawberries
  2.  Cut both into small chunks
  3.  Place into infusing chamber & fill bottle with water
  4.  Leave overnight in the fridge (or for 24 hours to increase strength)
  5.  Enjoy!

Quick Tip: One fruit to steer clear of trying to infuse is kiwi, as this take a long time to get any flavour from and is generally a bit of a mess.

There are tons of great combinations for infused waters, so the sky is the limit. Here are some other great combos we love:

Orange and Blueberry
Watermelon and Mint
Rosemary and Grapefruit
