As we all know, Valentine’s day is coming up and what better way to get in the spirit than with some love themed nail art?

Here at 2 Brunettes & A Blog, we love a bit of nail art but have to admit our artistic talent only stretches so far! Plus waiting for them to dry (and potentially smudging your hard work) is a bit of drag.

That’s why we’re super excited to team up with the newly founded Lazy Girl Nails. They’ve sent us some of their love heart nail wraps to test out and give away to 3 of our lucky readers!

These love heart wraps can be worn 2 ways; as either a plain red look with a negative space heart or as the popular heart tipped nails you see on Pinterest. Of course, if you’re going for the heart tipped nails these naturally look best on almond or stiletto shaped nails as they give the hearts their pointy tips. We decided to go with the heart tipped nails, as when we’d attempted these in the past they ended up very bumpy & were a bit of a pain…

So here is how to get the look in four easy steps:

  1. Prep your nails. Lazy Girl Nails suggest filing your nails to your desired shape & length and making sure the surface of your nail is free from any dirt or oils that could stop the wrap from sticking. We used an alcohol wipe to do this.
  2. Select your size. Find out which size best suits your nail shape. It’s better to have the wrap with a thin gap either side than to have it touching your skin, as this may make your wraps lift and not last as long.
  3. Stick it down. Once you’ve found your perfect size, press your nail wrap down over the nail and smooth out any air to seal the wrap to your nails. We managed to get a crease near the tip of our nail on our initial application but we gently peeled it back and smoothed it over, which removed it easily.
  4. File off the excess. Once you’re happy the nail wrap is applied properly you can file off the excess. We did this by filing in a downwards motion at the tip of our nails, as recommended.

And that was it! You can of course seal it with a top coat if you like but in the true lazy girl spirit we decided to go without.

In terms of wear we’d say these lasted about the same as our regular nail polish and started to see some chipping towards the end of the week. When it’s this easy to change up your look though we weren’t really bothered that they didn’t last as long as say, shellac.
