Who doesn’t love a spot of baking? The recipe below is for simple brownies but with a twist – a good dollop of Nutella! If like 95% of the world (myself included) you love Nutella, then chances are you’ll definitely like these!

What you’ll need:

170g dark chocolate chips
170g unsalted butter, cut into pieces
115g dark chocolate, chopped
280g granulated sugar
150g Nutella
3 large eggs plus 1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
95g all-purpose flour
30g unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1x 8×8 inch baking tin (I’ve gone for square but you can do round if you really want)
2x Bowl
Electric Whisk
Saucepan
Wooden Spoon
Spatula

First off preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease your tin with a light layer of butter and then sprinkle with a dusting of flour. This works to get the brownies out perfectly, compared to messing around with the traditional baking parchment. Be sure to make sure it is all evenly covered if you miss any bits your brownies will stick!

Throw your chocolate chips, butter, and dark chocolate into a saucepan on a low heat until the mixture is melted & smooth but not scorched (burnt=bad). Take it off the hob and let it cool slightly. Next stir in the Nutella (resist eating it).

In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the eggs and sugar on medium-high speed until light and thick (about 3 minutes-ish). Beat in the vanilla extract, then stir in the cooled chocolate mixture with a rubber spatula. Add the flour, cocoa, and salt, folding gently until combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake until a tester comes out with moist crumbs still attached, 35 to 40 minutes. Do not overbake, you want to err on the side of under-baking. Let them cool to room temperature and then either serve straight away, warmed, or chilled.
